Javed Akhtar viral video: Veteran screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar celebrated his 79th birthday on January 17 with his family and close friends in Mumbai. Farhan Akhatr, Boney Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, and several other celebs attended the celebration that happened at Anil Kapoor's residence.

Javed stepped out with his wife, Shabana Azmi, to greet and pose for the paps. However, he got irked with the photographers screaming around him.

In the video shared by a paparazzo account, Javed is seen unhappy with the chaos outside Anil Kapoor's house. He lost his cool as several photographers kept calling his name continuously while he was trying to pose with his wife, Shabana Azmi.

He was seen schooling the paps and saying "Shor mat karo," before posing for them. He was dressed in his trademark kurta-pyjama, while Azmi opted for a comfy outfit. The veteran writer thanked them and even sang the birthday song.

As soon as the video was uploaded, netizens joked and compared Akhtar to Jaya Bachchan, who is often seen scolding the paparazzis. One said, "Jaya bachchan ka bhai same shor se nafrat." Another commented, "He must be related to Jaya Bachchan as they both react the same way to the media."

For the birthday party, Javed and Anil were joined by their children - Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Sonam Kapoor, Anand Ahuja, and Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. Divya Dutta, Zoya Akhtar, and Ashutosh Gowariker were also seen attending the bash.

Recently, Javed Akhtar broke the misconceptions around Hindi and Urdu at an event and stated that one should not assume that one is the language of Hindus and the other of Muslims. He was speaking at the "Siamese twins" at the India International Centre, where he said, "Hindi and Urdu were equals until about 200 years ago, when, for political reasons, they were separated."

"You would not be able to tell if certain poems were written by a Hindi poet or an Urdu poet. This was done by the Britishers to create a cultural difference in north India."
