Vijay
Lakshmi,
popularly
known
as
Mallika
Rajput,
was
found
dead
in
her
residence
in
Sultanpur,
Uttar
Pradesh,
under
suspicious
circumstances
on
Tuesday
(February
13),
as
per
police
reports.
Authorities
stated
that
the
35-year-old
singer's
body
was
found
hanging
from
a
ceiling
fan
in
a
room
at
her
residence
in
the
Sitakund
area
of
the
Kotwali
police
station
jurisdiction.
Sumitra
Singh,
Mallika's
mother,
mentioned
that
she
was
unaware
of
the
incident's
time
since
the
family
was
asleep
at
the
time.
Shriram
Pandey,
the
in-charge
of
Kotwali
police
station,
told
PTI
that
prima
facie,
it
appears
to
be
a
case
of
suicide.
However,
he
added
that
the
exact
cause
of
death
would
be
determined
once
the
postmortem
report
is
available.
MALLIKA
HAD
WORKED
WITH
KANGANA
RANAUT
It
should
be
noted
that
Mallika
Rajput
had
also
worked
with
Bollywood
actress
Kangana
Ranaut.
She
appeared
in
a
supporting
role
alongside
Kangana
in
the
film
