Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik broke the internet recently after he announced his third wedding. The cricketer, who was earlier married to Indian Tennis Star Sania Mirza, has now married Pakistani actress Sana Javed in an intimate wedding and shared the pic on social media lately. The news of the wedding came amid ongoing rumours about his divorce from Sania.

And while Shoaib and Sana's wedding has left everyone brimming with an opinion, Sania and her team have finally released a statement. Sania's sister Anam Mirza shared a statement and revealed that Sania and Shoaib have been divorced for months now. The statement also read that Sania wishes Shoaib good luck for his new journey.

The statement read as, "Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, she would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy".

Earlier this week, Sania shared a quote that read, "Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely."

Meanwhile, Sania's father Imran Mirza spoke about the Tennis star's divorce from Shoaib and told PTI, "it was a 'khula'". For the uninitiated, khula refers to the right of a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce her husband.

To note, while this happens to be Shoaib's third marriage, his wife Sana was also married earlier. Yes! Sana was earlier married to Umair Jaswal. The couple had tied the knot in 2020 in an intimate wedding.
