The story goes that Kush Agnihotri (Imran Khan) is a young boy from Dehradun and works in Mumbai as assistant director in the film industry. He is asked by his elder brother Luv Agnihotri, who lives in London (Ali Zafar) to find him a suitable 'desi dulhan'.
Luv Agnihotri is a confused and stylish videshi babu who has got a great job as investment banker in London and has a weakness for pretty faces.
Kush takes it as his prime agenda to find a suitable match for his brother and goes through an array of crazy encounters with several girls and their families. He then meets Dimple Dixit (Katrina Kaif) who is a complete livewire who loves to live life kingsize. Though brough up in London, Dimple is a desi at heart and is on the lookout of a rich guy to get married and settle.
Both the families meet. Formalities completed. It is decided that Dimple and Luv will marry. It is during the time when the preparations are in full swing that our hero Khush realises that he is in love with Dimple – his brother ki dulhan.
