Housefull 2: Movie Review

The intellectual class may call it 'nonsensical' and 'mindless', but what the aam janta expects is a full-too entertainment and sufficient tummy laughs out of a loud masala movie. Promising the same, here's Sajid Khan's madcap entertainer Housefull 2, that might leave you laugh your socks off mindlessly.

Housefull 2 narrates the story of four fathers and their four daughters. Each father wants his daughter to marry the richest son-in-law, while each daughter thinks she is marrying the richest son-in-law. Each son-in-law is pretending to be the richest son-in-law. Confusion commences when a title 'jolly' gets attached to each of the son-in-laws, while they enter the house. Interestingly, each of the son-in-laws are mistaken with the name 'jolly.' The entire episode turns crazy and bizarre, with hilarious dialogues throughout the movie. But Sajid somehow fails to add a specific storyline in the film.

After delivering mind-boggling performances in films like Hera Pheri and Garam Masala, comedy is no new business for Akshay Kumar. He does a fabulous job in the movie. Interestingly, the hunky John Abraham too is no more a kid in the comedy world. He too has delivered a decent, comical performance.

Amongst the ladies, Asin did a good job, while Shazahn, Zarine and Jacqueline were somewhere left out in the movie. The four pa-in-laws Boman Irani, Rishi and Randhir Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty, played their respective part superbly. In one word, it was a pleasure to watch out the yesteryear actors befitting themselves in such funny roles.

Talking about the music, Malaika Arora Khan's 'Anarkali Disco Chali' song adds oomph. Like Housefull, the sequel too has a 'papa' song. 'Papa Toh Band Bajaye', a desi rock and roll number is surely a crowd puller.

On a whole, Housefull 2 is a must to watch for the comedy lovers. If you need a break from work and want to get relaxed, here's a wacky slapstick of your taste, that would definitely leave you yelling, whistling, giggling and applauding in the theatres. In one word, the movie is a laughter-riot, but somehow lacks a good script.
