Directed
by
Kunal
Deshmukh
and
starring
Emraan
Hashmi
and
Randeep
Hooda
in
the
lead,
Jannat
2
is
nothing
extraordinary.
Like
all
previous
Bollywood
gangster
films,
the
protagonist
(who
is
extremely
good
at
heart)
gets
lured
into
the
big
bad
world
and
later
faces
the
negative
results
of
his
own
deeds.
Jannat
2
bares
a
lot
of
resemblance
to
Nicolas
Cage’s
Lord
of
War
as
it
revolves
around
the
plot
of
arms
trafficking.
Jannat
2
is
a
sequel
to
the
2008
release
Jannat.
Few
emotional
and
action
scenes
in
Jannat
2
give
you
an
adrenaline
high,
though
the
various
twists
and
turns
in
the
narrative
is
quite
predictable.
However,
the
fast
pace
of
the
film
makes
for
an
interesting
watch.
Music
by
Pritam
is
melodious,
but
not
remarkable.
The
background
music
is
brilliant.
Story
Sonu
Dilli
aka
KKC
(Kutti
Kamini
Cheez),
played
by
Emraan
Hashmi,
owns
a
small
business
of
selling
and
renting
guns.
ACP
Pratap
(Randeep
Hooda)
asks
Sonu
to
become
his
informer
and
help
him
get
into
the
roots
of
the
nexus
of
arms
racket.
Sonu
later
falls
in
love
with
Jhanvi
(Esha
Gupta),
a
doctor
at
a
government
hospital.
In
an
effort
to
change
his
life,
will
Sonu
be
pushed
further
into
crime
or
get
himself
into
trouble?
Performance
Emraan
Hashmi
as
Sonu
is
endearing
with
his
typical
Hariyanvi
accent.
However,
the
actor
conveniently
forgets
the
accent
after
the
first
few
scenes.
Randeep
Hooda
as
ACP
Pratap
is
outstanding.
His
anger
and
frustration
combined
with
his
goodness
stands
out.
Jannat
2
is
undoubtedly
his
best
film
as
far
as
performance
goes.
Esha
Gupta
is
wasted.
Apart
from
kissing
and
making
love
passionately,
she
really
doesn't
have
anything
much
to
do.
But
yes,
the
girl
definitely
has
the
talent,
if
given
an
opportunity.
Overall,
Jannat
2
is
a
decent
effort,
but
somehow
is
unable
to
hit
the
bulls
eye.
It
will
please
you
in
bits
and
pieces.
