Shankar's
magnum
opus
I
was
the
most
anticipated
movie
of
the
year
with
the
prominence
being
greater
than
any
Rajinikanth
movie
or
even
the
Khans'
movie.
But
like
they
say,
big
doesn't
always
mean
better.
The
film
stars
Vikram
and
Amy
Jackson
in
lead
roles.
The
movie
released
in
three
languages
Tamil,
Telugu
and
Hindi
but
the
Hindi
version
hit
the
theatres
a
day
later
while
Tamil
and
Telugu
viewers
got
a
head
start.
Cast:
Vikram,
Amy
Jackson,
Suresh
Gopi,
Upen
Patel,
Santhanam
and
Ramkumar
Ganesan
Director:
Shankar
Plot:
Vikram
plays
a
the
role
of
a
bodybuilder,
Lingesan,
who
idolizes
Arnold
Schwarzenegger
and
aims
to
be
like
him
while
Amy
Jackson
plays
the
rolf
of
supermodel
Diya.
Lingesan
is
so
obsessed
with
Diya
that
he
has
a
box
full
of
women's
products
in
the
bedroom
that
are
endorsed
by
Diya.
When
he
gets
caught
red-handed
by
his
friend
and
is
asked
what
he
is
going
to
do
with
all
these
products
(holding
a
pack
of
sanitary
napkin),
Lingesan
very
cheekily
says
he
will
use
it
as
a
pillow.
This
scene
makes
you
laugh
like
you
never
have.
Lingesan
is
not
the
obsessed
kind,
like
the
ones
we
usually
spot
in
other
movies
but
rather
different.
He
gets
a
major
makeover
and
turns
into
a
hot
hunk
by
the
name
Lee
who
becomes
a
sensation
in
the
glamorous
world
of
advertising
and
ends
up
bearing
the
wrath
of
many.
At
this
point
the
story
starts
to
fluctuate
with
the
lead
actors
meeting
half
way
across
the
world
in
China
and
how
they
fall
in
love
etc.
How
the
hunchback
character
comes
into
play
and
also
the
werewolf
character
forms
the
crux
of
the
story.
Like
so
many
other
reviews
I
can
reveal
the
entire
plot
but
after
that
what's
the
point
of
the
makers
making
the
movie
or
what's
the
point
of
you
going
to
the
theatre
by
being
a
know
it
all.
A
little
bit
of
surprise
and
suspense
helps
you
to
enjoy
the
movie
and
trust
me
when
I
say
this,
you'll
end
up
giving
standing
ovation
to
Vikram.
Yes,
the
actor
has
worked
a
lot
to
portray
each
of
the
roles
in
the
movie,
no
wonder
they
too
2-3
years
to
make
I.
From
my
point
of
view,
this
is
where
the
movie
fails.
The
plot
may
not
be
predictable
as
such
but
definitely
dragged
to
such
an
extent
in
the
second
half
that
audience
gets
bored.
Technical
Aspects:
I
has
been
shot
lavishly
with
a
big
budget
of
Rs
180
crores
so
it
definitely
is
visual
treat
to
watch
the
movie
and
Shankar's
direction
is
also
good
but
the
weak
script
of
I
ruins
every
other
good
aspect
of
the
movie.
A.R
Rahman
songs
are
very
melodious
but
they
don't
soothe
who
when
you
are
getting
bored
with
the
story.
Performance:
Vikram
is
the
star
of
the
movie
but
even
his
hard
work
and
dedication
could
not
help
I
much,
but
hats
off
to
the
actor
for
the
brilliant
performance
in
all
the
roles.
Amy
Jackson
does
an
'Ok'
job
while
Upen
Patel
was
not
needed
rather
someone
better
could
have
been
cast.
Suresh
Gopi
and
Ramkumar's
roles
were
not
that
great
to
deserve
a
compliment
neither
that
bad
to
be
commented
upon.
Verdict:
Watch
it
only
for
Vikram
otherwise
you
can
skip
it.

Verdict
The
movie
has
impressed
many,
the
movie
has
disappointed
many
but
I
will
mint
money
and
be
declared
a
hit
but
when
it
comes
to
the
reviewing

it
can
be
termed
as
a
flop
if
most
of
the
people
have
not
liked
the
movie.
