Political
satires
always
appear
to
be
interesting
and
what
can
be
better
than
a
satire
on
India
and
Pakistan.
Welcome
To
Karachi
is
a
tale
of
two
Indians
who
get
stuck
in
Pakistan
and
experience
the
'hospitality'
of
Taliban.
Directed
by
Ashish
R
Mohan,
the
Bollywood
movie
Welcome
To
Karachi
is
apparently
influenced
from
the
Hollywood
flick
Dumb
And
Dumber
starring
Jim
Carrey
and
Jeff
Daniels.
Welcome
To
Karachi
deals
with
two
friends,
Arshad
Warsi
(Shammi
Thakur)
and
Jackky
Bhagnani
(Kedar
Patel).
Jackky
is
desperate
to
go
to
US
but
is
unable
to
do
so
as
every
time
his
visa
gets
rejected.
Then,
Arshad
comes
as
a
saviour
for
his
friend
and
convinces
him
that
he
would
take
Jackky
to
America
on
a
boat
without
any
visa
issues.
However,
the
actual
fun
begins
when
the
duo
end
up
reaching
Karachi
in
Pakistan
and
eventually,
get
into
the
hands
of
Taliban
who
plan
to
use
them
for
terrorism.
Then
follows
a
series
of
comedies
as
Arshad
and
Jackky
try
to
escape
the
clutches
of
Taliban
and
Pakistan
as
a
whole.
To
know
whether
they
are
able
to
get
free
or
end
up
being
at
the
mercy
of
the
neighbouring
nation,
you
have
to
watch
the
movie.
Welcome
To
Karachi
Performances:
Arshad
Warsi
who
is
known
for
his
superb
comic
timing,
could
not
impress
us
much
in
this
movie
as
the
plot
itself
was
too
silly.
Jackky
Bhagnani
on
the
other
hand,
performed
better
compared
to
his
past
works.
Others
like
Lauren
Gottlieb
don't
have
much
scope
to
impress.
Welcome
To
Karachi
Loopholes:
The
movie
appears
to
be
too
silly
and
the
level
of
humour
is
more
or
less
childish.
The
scenes
lack
proper
sequencing
and
the
film
ends
with
an
absurd
climax.
Although,
certain
punch
lines
are
good,
most
of
them
are
too
typical
and
monotonous.
Welcome
To
Karachi
Positives:
Arshad
Warsi
and
Jackky
Bhagnani
add
some
amount
of
humour
to
the
film
with
certain
funny
punch
lines.
Apart
from
that,
there
is
nothing
much
to
add
in
this
section.
Welcome
To
Karachi
Technical
Aspects:
The
film
lacks
good
editing
as
the
scenes
seem
very
confusing
at
certain
points.
Moreover,
the
background
score
also
will
make
you
wish
if
you
could
press
the
mute
button.
The
movie
is
technically
not
very
sound.
Welcome
To
Karachi
Verdict:
Arshad
Warsi
deserves
a
better
plot
and
Jackky
Bhagnani
needs
a
better
movie.
All
in
all,
Welcome
To
Karachi
is
a
silly
film
which
won't
impress
anyone
who
has
a
good
sense
of
humour.

If
you
were
planning
on
watching
this
movie,
the
lyrics
of
its
song
‘Chal

should
be
a
strong
enough
hint
to
help
you
decide.
The
Indian
Express
Overall
it
is
all
good-natured
and
appropriately
silly,
so
‘Welcome
2
Karachi'
stays
watchable.

Only
the
foolhardy
would
underestimate
Bollywood's
ability
to
do
worse,
but
it
is
unlikely
that
you
will
see
another
film
this
unabashedly
daft
this

Resist
the

We
all
know
Arshad
Warsi
is
a
competent
actor
and
his
talent
shows
in
a
particularly
hilarious
scene
which
includes
a
Indo-Pak
cricket
match.
Jackky
Bhagnani,
as
a
money
minded
but
daft
Gujarati
boy
is
good.
Lauren
Gotleib
proves
that
she
is
a
far
better
dancer
than
actor,
as
she
sizzles
in
a
dance
number.
Pakistani
actors,
Ayub
Khoso
and
Adnan
Shah,
add
dollops
of
delight
to
the
narration.
Worth
one
watch.
