Director : Tinu Suresh Desai
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Ileana D'Cruz, Esha
The plot of the film is roughly based on the real scandalous
incident which took place in 1959 in Mumbai. It's a story of an
honest commander Rustom Pavri (Akshay Kumar) from Indian Navy for
whom his nation comes first!
Later, the story pans to his beautiful world in which he is
happily married to his wife Cynthia Pavri (Ileana D'Cruz) and
everything goes well between the duo until he gets to know about
the extra-marital affair of his wife.
As events unfold, he realizes that Cynthia is having an affair

in the heat of the moment? You need to rush to the theatres to find
Let's just take a moment to praise Akshay for putting his heart
and soul into the character. From his behaviour to body language,
from the way he talks and stands in the film, every sequence of his
is worth clapping and not forgetting to mention that he is the only
good thing about this over-dramatic movie!
Also, he has made sure to make his character look balanced
throughout the film. He has raised his pitch when needed, without
making it look overdramatic and giving pure authenticity to his
Ileana, on the other side, stuck to her character throughout the
film and did an average job as all she has to do is to sob, sob and
Esha Gupta, who shares a very minute screen space in the film,
did a very pathetic job in her negative character. There is a
sequence where she comes in front of her brother Vikram Makhija's
dead body and the way she reacted is just too bad to explain!
Thumbs down Tinu Suresh Desai (the director), for filming such a
crucial scene is the most silly way!
When it comes to making a film based on real-life incidents,
Bollywood film-makers are often seen turning the real events into a
melodrama. However, director Tinu Suresh Desai has tried his level
best to make the film realistic in the first half but couldn't stop
himself from making second half overdramatic!
Music of the film is in favour of the audiences and it is
synchronised well. Especially the romantic track Tere Sang Yaara
which features the blooming romance of Akshay & Ileana.
The editing of the film lacks the perfection which makes even
good sequences a little draggy!
The picturization of film is good and an amazing selection of
exotic locales and warships will surely be a treat to your
However we feel that the make-up artist did not do any homework
for this film! The make-up on leading ladies is just too colourful
and glossy to see on the big screen!
It's not a serious movie; there is definitely 'masala' in this
so-called suspense thriller. The movie is
a potpourri of unrealistic dialogues, forced funny scenes, misplaced twists and turns but an amazing act of Akshay Kumar!
If you are a die-hard fan of Akki, you can surely enjoy the
