Kaala
Review:
When
the
trailer
of
Kaala
was
released
a
couple
of
weeks
ago,
it
grabbed
everyone's
attention
and
with
Bejoy
Nambiar's
name
attached
to
it,
the
audience
had
high
expectations
from
the
series.
It
stars
Avinash
Tiwary,
Jitin
Gulati,
Taher
Shabbir,
Rohan
Mehra,
Elisha
Mayor,
and
Nivetha
Pethuraj
in
the
lead
roles.
Kaala
has
started
streaming
today
on
Disney+Hotstar,
so
is
the
series
worth
your
time?
Find
out
in
our
review
below...
Kaala
revolves
around
Rithwik
(Avinash)
who
is
an
IB
officer
and
is
working
on
a
reverse
hawala
case
in
which
the
main
suspect
is
the
business
tycoon
Naman
(Taher
Shabbir).
While
the
trailer
showcased
that
it's
a
cat-and-mouse
game
between
Rithwik
and
Naman,
let
us
tell
you
that
the
series
is
much
more
than
that
and
it
is
filled
with
a
lot
of
twists
and
turns.
The
series
is
created
and
directed
by
Bejoy
Nambiar
who
is
known
for
directing
films
like
Shaitan,
Wazir,
David,
and
others.
With
Madhuri
Dixit
starrer
The
Fame
Game,
he
has
also
left
a
mark
on
OTT.
With
Kaala,
he
gets
into
a
genre
that
he
is
known
for;
the
series
is
dark,
has
some
twists
and
turns,
and
it's
thrilling.
While
Kaala
keeps
us
engaged
and
on
the
edge
of
our
seats
for
most
of
the
part,
there
are
a
few
episodes
whose
runtime
is
quite
long,
and
in
those
episodes
the
pace
of
the
show
becomes
slow.
That's
one
of
the
negative
points
of
the
series.
There
are
many
twists
and
turns
in
the
show,
but
you
will
predict
one
of
them,
however,
it
is
Bejoy's
narration
that
saves
the
game
here.
Talking
about
performances,
it
is
Jitin
Gulati
who
steals
the
show.
He
is
exceptional
in
the
series,
and
once
you
finish
watching
Kaala,
you
will
become
his
fan.
Avinash
Tiwary
is
very
good
in
his
part,
and
he
once
again
proves
his
versatility.
Rohan
Vinod
Mehra
is
a
surprise
here;
his
performance
leaves
a
strong
mark.
Taher
Shabbir
has
less
screen
time
compared
to
other
male
leads,
but
he
is
good
in
his
role.
The
female
leads,
Elisha
Mayor
and
Nivetha
Pethuraj,
are
very
good
in
their
respective
roles.
Especially
Nivetha,
she
is
going
to
surprise
you.
In
Bejoy
Nambiar's
movies,
the
background
score
plays
a
very
pivotal
role,
and
here
also
the
background
music
is
fantastic.
The
music
surely
elevates
a
scene,
especially
the
chase
sequences.
Overall,
Kaala
is
a
very
well-made
thriller
series
with
twists
and
turns,
and
some
amazing
performances.
So,
you
can
surely
watch
it!
