FIR Against Aniruddhacharya After 'Ladkiyan Muh Maar Chuki Hoti Hai' Comment Sparks Massive Outrage

A Mathura court has admitted a complaint against spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj for alleged indecent remarks about women. Complainant Meera Rathore will testify as the case proceeds, with the next hearing scheduled for January 1. The case underscores ongoing scrutiny of comments about women and public discourse in India.

Spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj is set to face trial after a court in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, accepted a complaint over alleged indecent remarks about women made in October. The case will now proceed in the court of CJM Utsav Raj Gaurav, with the next hearing on January 1.

At the hearing on January 1, the court is scheduled to record the statement of complainant Meera Rathore, who heads the Agra district unit of the All India Hindu Mahasabha. According to the complainant’s lawyer Manish Gupta, registration of the case marks a key step in the legal process.

Aniruddhacharya controversy: viral video and disputed statement

The dispute began after a video of Aniruddhacharya spread widely on social media in October. In the clip, Aniruddhacharya commented on women’s marriages and relationships, saying, "Aajkal betiyon ki shadi 25 varsh mein hoti hai, tab tak vah kayi jagah muh maar chukihotihain (Nowadays, they are married at 25. By then, they have enjoyed a relationship with many men)." The remark drew strong criticism online and offline.

Following the backlash, Aniruddhacharya claimed that the controversial line did not reflect the intended message. The preacher insisted that respect for women remained central to the teachings and alleged that the statement circulating online had been distorted. Despite this clarification, protests and public anger continued, and pressure mounted for legal action.

Celebrations among supporters of the complainant followed the registration of the case, which they viewed as an important achievement. They argued that formal recognition of the complaint signalled that remarks targeting women would face legal scrutiny. Further hearings are now expected to examine the evidence and testimonies in detail.

Aniruddhacharya controversy: celebrity backlash and security concerns

Online criticism included a widely shared post that read, "Kathavachak Indresh Upadhyay should have listened to Aniruddhacharya at least once before marrying a woman who is above 25 😭.pic.twitter.com/IA2PI7qTqE https://t.co/IRDsawyo6H — sonam☀️ (@Kuffarhu) December 9, 2025". The tweet reflected the charged debate on age, relationships and morality.

Actor Disha Patani’s sister Khushboo Patani also attacked the remarks in a video message. Khushboo said, "He says girls who are above the age of 25 and stay in live-in relationships, woh 4 jagah muh maar keaatihai. If only he were around me, I would have made him understand the meaning of the words he has used against women." After that, authorities reportedly provided Khushboo with additional security following threats from gangsters.

The legal case against Aniruddhacharya, the continued social media discussion and strong reactions from public figures have kept the matter in focus. With the complainant’s statement due on January 1 and further hearings likely afterward, the court process will determine the next steps over the disputed comments on women.
