Arshad Warsi, the most popular comedian in Bollywood movies circuits his influence through the character roles that he has selected recently. He is the kind of actor that you wish all the film actors should be. Arshad Warsi's unassuming and friendly appearance will give the feeling of a great person to hang out with and set anybody at ease. He has reached the heights of his career through these simple manners and dedication to whatever he does.

Arshad Warsi's life is more dramatic than the films he had acted in. Born on April 19th 1968, he became an orphan at the age of 14 and lived in the streets of Mumabai. The teenage Arshad used to sell nail polish and lipsticks on the pavements and lived on slated rice for years. However his interest for dance and art sustained him to join a dance school. The turning point in his life came, when he had won the fourth prize for the World English Jazz Dancing Competition at the age of 21. Arshad Warsi opened a dance school with his prize money and also joined the English Theatre group in Mumbai.

Arshad Warsi was expecting least when he was invited to judge a dance competition at St Xavier's College fest in Mumbai. He met Maria Goretti there and both of them got impressed with each other. Maria joined Arshad Warsi's dance group and their relationship came to wedlock on 14th February 1999.They have a son named Zeke Warsi born on August 10, 2004.Both Maria and Zeke had a momentous appearance in Arshad Warsi starrer Salaam Namaste. The couple also came together to anchor Star Gold's award show Sabse Favorite Kaun. They are also appearing together in Sony Entertainment's latest launched reality show Big Boss.

Arshad Warsi's entrance into Bollywood was not a mere chance. A friend of Joy Augustine spotted Arshad Warsi to audition for Tere Mere Sapne (1996), who was frequenting theatrical tours with his troupe and was an active participant of English theatre. However his debut film could not donate much to Arshad Warsi's acting career. He was not in a position to discuss his roles with the directors in the beginning days and selected the roles that he found good. As a result Arshad Warsi's earlier movies like Betaabi, Mere Do Anmol Ratan, Hero Hindustani, Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet, Ghaath, Jeetenge Hum, and Trishakti turned out to be miserably failures.

However the release of Munnabhai MBBS in 2003 changed the acting life of Arshad Warsi. His role as 'Circuit' won huge appreciation and critical acclaim. He was inundated with offers for ambitious projects. Arsahd continued his success run in movies like Hulchul, Zeher, Salaam Namaste, Golmaal, Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya? and Lage Raho Munnabhai. He won a 'Zee Cine Award Best Actor in a comic role' for his role in Munnabhai MBBS. He proved his worth as an actor in critically acclaimed Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part 2. He has a prominent role in the latest release Umrao Jaan.

Nowadays Arshad Warsi is very selective about his films. Even the Bollywood directors are ready to give a little interview to this talented actor. We can hope well that Arshad Warsi will reach the zenith of his acting career through his vibrant characters.
