The gorgeous Kapoor
By: Nikita C Fernandes
The blue eyed bombshell may be in the news for all the not so great reasons but that would not deter the confident and sizzling beauty from being cast by all top film directors of the Indian film industry .Born into the great Kapoor khandaan , she wanted to be a lawyer. She attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and Welham Girls Boarding school in Dehradun. When she was young, she used to frequently accompany her sister for shoots. After Karisma's successful career stint , Kareena Kapoor followed her sister's footsteps. She has come along way since her first film Refugee which didn't create magic in the box office however, she was noticed and several offers starting pouring in , which created rippling effects in the film industry.
Even after a string of less successful films like Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Yaadein, Ajnabee, Asoka, Fida, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, Jeena Sirf Tere Liye, Talaash: The Hunt Begins., Bewafaa ,LOC Kargil, Kyunki.. Kareena worked under the best banners bagging good films like Chameli, K3G, Dev, Hulchul, Yuva and Aitraaz. Being one of the top film actresses of today, she has acted in 29 films over a span of six years. Her annual salary is a whopping of Rs.3 crores per film. Known for her exotic features and beauty, Kareena has portrayed most of her characters to a T. Who can forget the delicate yet strong Naaz of Refugee , the ambitious Pooja Saxena of Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai , the innocent Chameli of the film Chameli, the sensual Kaurwaki of Asoka and of course, the pompous yet sweet Poo of K3G.
Kareena also known as Bebo by her loved ones is deeply in love with actor Shahid Kapur. She has acted with him in films like 36 China Town and Chup Chup Ke. However, these films were nothing short of flops which didn't work too great for her.
With her much awaited movies, like Omkara and Don. She plays the character of Dolly Mishra and Kamini respectively. Omkara is Vishal Bharadwaj's adaptation of Shakespeare's celebrated drama Othello set in the background of Northern India. Dolly Mishra is the version of the strong and assertive Desdemona who tore away from the gender barriers of the patriarchal society. Expectations are flying high as she portrays the strongest character ever from career of films. Don is another eagerly awaited movie which will be released this Diwali based on Amitabh Bachchan's film Don.
Vishal Bharadwaj's Mr.Mehta and Mrs. Singh, Satish Kaushik's Milenge Milenge, My Punjabi Nikah, an untitled Zoya Ahktar and Soham Shah project are her eagerly awaited movies to be released next year. So watch out for this space for further updates....
