With her long legs, ample bee-stung lips and striking deep-set blue eyes, Angelina Jolie may have been destined for screen stardom even without the benefit of her considerable talent. Unlike other Hollywood stars, Angelina, unconcerned by controversy, is ever keen to talk about her breakdowns, her disorders, her fantasies as to initiate others to say that she has built a career on titillating public confession. But unmindful of the engulfing controversies around her, alluring Angelina goes on acting winning awards after awards, and even bagging the prestigious Oscar Award, the highest recognition ever given to a film artist. She is known as much for her off-screen romances, adoptions and political activism as for her movie roles.

Angelina was born on 4th July as the daughter of actors Jon Voight who won Oscar Award in 1978 and Marcheline Bertrand. The daughter of actors, she began studying acting at age 11 at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in NYC. Being born to a family of renowned actors her destiny was fused into her blood and at the fulfillment of time Angelina, but had to prove her legacy and blood line. Jolie started acting at a young age.

In 1990s, Hollywood witnessed the rise of Angelina as a successful actress. She gave a star-making performance in the 1998 television film Gia based on the short, tragic life of model Gia Marie Carangi, which won her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.Another great dramatic role in Girl, Interrrupted brought Jolie her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She has continued to take on a variety of interesting roles, such as an adventurer in the Lara Croft films, a FBI profiler in Taking Lives, an assassin in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and a neglected, troubled socialite wife in The Good Shepherd.

In 2000 the major break hit Jolie's career. 'Tomb Raider' in which Angelina starred Lara Croft, a character extracted form a video game. The role required determined training for athletics. Silencing all the critics the films collected $275 million from the theaters. Angelina is ever known for the dreamlike character in this movie. The risky adventuresome character was successfully starred by Jolie. It was in 2004 another box office hit came from Jolie through the film Mr.&Mrs. Smith with co-star Brad Pitt. As the latest outcome of this co- starring, Jolie and Pitt announced the birth of their daughter in early 2006.

Angelina is known as a risk taker, On screen and also 'in bed'. She is also a devoted humanitarian. Angelina Jolie was made a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency in 2001. In 2005, Jolie received the Global Humanitarian Action Award from the United Nations Association of the USA for her activism on behalf of refugee rights. She continues to travel the world to drawing attention to global issues. Angelina, so far, has adopted three kids and bring up with her children. Most of her humanitarian efforts are financed by her actress salary.
