Anil Kapoor one of the top ten heroes of the Bollywood was born on 24 December 1959 Chembur Maharashtra India. His family somehow belongs to the 'Kapoor' dynasty as Anil Kapoor's dad and Raj Kapoor's dad Prithviraj Kapoor are cousins in relation.

He has two brothers: Producer Boney Kapoor, who is 1 year older than him, and actor Sanjay Kapoor, who is much younger . He also has a sister, who is married in Delhi.

Anil is married to Sunita Kapoor, who is his dress designer. She also runs this fitness gym called IDEA'S ( integrated dance&excessive academy) Its in Juhu, about 10 mins from their house. She is opening another one townside. She does not teach there but has many excellent instructors working for her. Its one of the best aerobics gym in bombay!! As for the debut in Bollywood, Anil's first movie was Woh Saat Din . His films Andhar Baahar, Maashal and Shakti, Meri Jung, did pretty well at the box office as Anil co-starred with Dilip Kumar, Jackie Shroff and Amitabh Bachchan respectively. Anil actually got a chance to prove his skill when Subhash Ghai, one of the Hollywood's pride, offered him Karma in which Anil's performance won the applause of the industry as well as in Ram Lakhan in which he could dance stunningly to the tunes.

In 1989, Tezaab was released and Anil Kapoor became Super star in night. His character Munna was appreciated by public to such an extent that, even today after many years his performance is praised by people. Anil Kapoor gave many hits with Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit. Mr. India, Lamhe, Laadla with Sridevi were major hit at box office. Tezaab, Ram Laakhan, Parinda, Kishan Kanaiya with Madhuri Dixit were major hits, but Zindagi Ek Juaa, Jamai Raja, Jeevan Ek Saangarsh, Khel were total flop. 1942 A Love Story had Anil Kapoor in a very different role against Manisha Koirala. Yash Chopra's Lamhe was a romantic movie in which script was entirely different and had Anil Kapoor in two different shades.

Subhash Ghai's Taal Starring Anil Kapoor, Akshay Khanna and Aishwarya Rai is a Mega Musical hit, as well as PriyaDarshan's Hum Aapke Dil Me Rehate Hain starring Anil and Kajol is a musical hit and later Anil's - Mann - was a super hit and did well at the box office.
