Govinda Biography

Govinda is an Indian film actor, dancer, comedian, and former politician known for his work in Hindi films. Govinda has acted in over 120 films since his debut in 1986. Govinda is best known for his comic roles; his powerful contribution to dancing in Bollywood is remarkable. He received numerous awards, including the IIFA, Filmfare, Zee Awards, and many others, for his prominent contribution to Bollywood films.

He is one of Bollywood's most effective artists and unquestionably the best dancer. His hardworking attitude and reliable qualities propelled him to the top of Bollywood's acting ranks. He is regarded as being one of the most down-to-earth and generous actors. Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan, and Madhuri Dixit have all worked with him.

He had a lot of success with family films like Dariya Dil (1988), Swarg (1990), and Hum (1991). He first collaborated with David Dhawan in the 1989 action film Taaqatwar. He then formed a successful collaboration with him and went on to act in 18 of his films, the majority of which were comedies. The most successful films during their collaboration included Shola Aur Shabnam (1992), Aankhen (1993), Raja Babu (1994), Coolie No. 1 (1995), Saajan Chale Sasural (1996), Hero No. 1 (1997), Deewana Mastana (1997), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998), Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999), Jodi No. 1 (2001), and Partner (2007).

After having tremendous success in comic roles, he tried his luck in a villainous role in the film "Shikari," directed by N. Chandra. His performance in the film was praised by critics. After a rough period from 2002 to 2005, he made the most successful comeback in Bollywood history with a string of hits, beginning with Bhagam Bhag in 2006 and culminating with a critically acclaimed performance in Salaam E Ishq in 2007.

Following that, in 2007, he appeared in the romantic comedy Partner, directed by David Dhawan. The movie became the 2nd greatest residential opening week grosser for an Indian movie, became a smash hit, and was ranked in India's top three films of 2007. He has also popped up as a guest on Indian reality shows similar to The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing in the United Kingdom.
