Om Prakash Rao is an Indian film director, screenwriter, film producer and film actor who primarily works in Kannada film industry. He has, till date, directed about 25 films in Kannada language. His films are known for the racy screenplays with extensive action sequences backed with subtle romance.
Rao's successful films such as AK-47 (1999) and Lockup Death have been huge blockbusters in Kannada cinema. His majority films have a trademark chasing scene with high budget sequences. His AK-47 film has a chase scene at the expense of 1.75 Crore which is considered to be the highest budget in Kannada cinema. He made his acting debut in the comedy film, Dakota Express (2002) alongside Rockline Venkatesh which was highly successful at the box-office.
