Saravanan Biography

Saravanan is an South Indian film actor who has appeared in Tamil language films. Saravanan was one among the leading the actors from 1991 to 1998, his career came to a halt in the latter end of the decade. He also directed a film called Thaayumaanavan.

Saravanan made his comeback in Ameer Sultan's Paruthiveeran playing the paternal uncle of the character Paruthiveeran portrayed by Karthi, winning critical acclaim and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor – Tamil. He also received many awards and appreciation for the same role.

Saravanan was born and brought up from Salem and he was the second of five children in his family. His father was an Inspector of police and his mother was a staff nurse. Saravanan obtained Bachelor of Arts in Tamil Literature from the Government Arts College of Salem. He got Married to Surya Shanthi in 1996 and they have a son.
