Apple ITunes, the legal digital music download service, has officially sold a billion songs through its service. The lucky downloader was Alex Ostrovsky who hails from West Bloomfield in Michigan, USA. In return for being the one-billionth downloader, he has got a 20-inch iMac, 10 iPods (fifth generation) and a $10,000 gift card good, which allows him to purchase any item on the shopping list at the iTunes Music store. Also, a scholarship will be offered for a Juilliard School of Music entrÉe, which will be named after the one-billionth downloader. The chief of the company, Steve Jobs, said that in regularizing the legal download of music they have made strong step in the fight against Internet piracy. The down loaded song was "Speed of Sound" by Coldplay.
