Negotiations are on with Masi Oka, for playing a supporting role in Columbia Pictures' upcoming thriller, 21. The film is based on the true story of a card counting group of exceptionally bright students from MIT who found a card counting method that helped them to win millions of dollars through gambling.
The movie is an adaptation of Ben Mezrich's best-seller "Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions." The movie stars Jim Sturgess who plays an MIT student who heads to Vegas to beat the casinos.
Masi Oka is a Japanese-American actor and a digital effects artist. He has been nominated for a Golden Globe for his role as Hiro Nakamura in the NBC series, Heroes. The shooting is expected to begin in February in Boston and Las Vegas. Robert Luketic will direct the movie.
