London
(ANI):
Sir
Anthony
Hopkins
has
unveiled
his
plans
to
embark
on
a
major
world
tour
-
as
a
concert
pianist.
Hopkins,
who
won
an
Oscar
for
his
portrayal
of
Hannibal
Lecter
in
'The
Silence
of
the
Lambs,'
would
play
mainly
his
own
compositions,
which
are
hailed
as
'haunting
and
ethereal'
in
the
style
of
modern
film
music.
Malcolm
Luker,
an
Australian
musician,
proposed
the
concept
to
the
veteran
actor
last
year
when
the
two
worked
on
'Slipstream.'
Hopkins,
besides
directing
and
acting
in
the
film,
wrote
most
of
the
score.
The
film
itself
did
not
receive
good
reviews,
but
critics
were
bowled
over
by
the
music,
with
one
saying
it
had
'a
hypnotic
quality'.
The
music
success
of
the
film
boosted
Hopkins" confidence
to
agree
to
the
world
tour.
"He
is
a
great
pianist,"
Times
Online
quoted
Luker,
as
saying.
The
tour
will
involve
Hopkins
playing
the
piano
and
telling
anecdotes
about
his
career.Luker
is
organising
the
tour,
which
is
expected
to
begin
in
Australia
before
heading
round
the
world.
