The first film Elizabeth earned the actress an Oscar nomination for her role as the charismatic monarch in 1998, and Blanchett insists that she is ready for a third film on the Virgin Queen's life.

Director Shekhar Kapur, the director of the two films, is very keen on making the trilogy. "The first one was about power and love, betrayal, survival, separation and disengaging all in the context of power. This one is much more about absolute power ... and being divine ... and what that means" he said. "The third one (would be) about if you become a model in your life, how would you face mortality...
