Comedian/actor George Lopez in talks with Salma Hayek and her partner Jose Tamez's production company Ventanazul to team up for a project.

Lopez will co-write, produce and star in one of the films entitled 'Bones Family' of the MGM-based shingle. The 46-year-old will be working on the script with directors Gabriel and Rodolfo Rivapalacio.

The plot follows a father who tries to reunite his dysfunctional family by taking them on a road trip to Las Vegas.

In April 2007 Hayek finalized negotiations with MGM to become the CEO of her own Latin themed film production company. Ventanazul is tapping hot young talent from Mexico, Chile and the U.S. for its first three projects which include 'Bones Family' along with 'Diego Ascending', a remake of Israeli pic 'Bonjour Monsieur Shlomi' and Nicolas Lopez's untitled.

Tamez insisted that the films will show that Latin-themed stories cover a very diverse range. "You can see from the stories we have selected that Ventanazul is committed to showing the film community and the broad audience that Latin-themed stories fall into all categories," Variety magazine quoted Tamez, as saying.
