Paramount
Pictures
has
gained
a
pitch
for
an
untitled
supernatural
thriller
that
will
be
produced
by
J.J.
Abrams'
Bad
Robot
Productions.
The
project
was
pitched
to
Abrams
by
"Maria
Full
of
Grace" filmmaker
Josh
Marston,
who
will
write
and
direct
the
impending
flick,
reports
Variety.
Details
on
the
pitch
were
being
kept
under
wraps,
as
is
usual
with
Abrams.
Only
a
year
into
a
five
year
deal
with
Paramount,
Bad
Robot
has
silently
set
up
at
least
seven
projects,
encompassing
the
comedy,
romantic
comedy,
horror
and
supernatural
genres.
One
of
these
seven
pictures
will
be
the
tentatively
titled
"Cloverfield," revealed
Abrams'.
The
reasonably
budgeted
disaster
pic,
that
will
hit
the
theatres
on
Jan.
18,
is
directed
by
Matt
Reeves
and
written
by
Drew
Goddard,
based
on
an
idea
by
Abrams.
Meanwhile
Abrams
will
begin
directing
"Star
Trek" on
Nov.
5.
The
movie,
which
will
release
on
Christmas
Day
2008,
has
been
scripted
and
exec
produced
by
Alex
Kurtzman
and
Roberto
Orci.
