Kylie
Minogue
and
Olivier
Martinez
have
split
amid
rumours
he
had
been
unfaithful.
Olivier,
who
has
been
linked
to
a
series
of
other
women
throughout
the
couple's
four-year
relationship,
was
seen
embracing
actress
Penelope
Cruz
just
hours
after
the
split
was
announced.
Olivier,
41,
hugged
and
kissed
Penelope,
32,
at
Los
Angeles'
Chateau
Marmont
Hotel
on
Saturday
-
the
same
hotel
where
he
fell
in
love
with
Kylie.
A
close
friend
of
Kylie's
revealed
to
Britain's
Daily
Mirror
newspaper:
"Kylie
is
a
very
sensitive
woman
who
loved
him
with
all
her
heart
but
he
looks
like
he
doesn't
have
a
care
in
the
world.
He
clearly
isn't
worried
about
her
feelings.
He
approached
Penelope
seconds
after
she
had
sat
down
to
have
lunch
with
her
friends."
Kylie, 38, suspected the romance was over when Olivier failed to join her in Australia for the start of her 'Showgirl Homecoming' tour last November - instead choosing to play a polo match in India. A friend added: "She said at the time, 'I know its over but I can't think about it until my tour has ended.' "That was the moment of truth for her. It wasn't the rumours of other women although that hurt her deeply. It was the realisation that Olivier just wasnt committed to their relationship. He wasn't prepared to join her for the most important concert of her life."
Kylie - who battled breast cancer in 2005 - and Olivier's relationship was constantly tested by rumours of infidelity. Rumours that he had romanced Israeli model Sarai Givati allegedly proved to be the final straw and the couple split just weeks after Olivier and Sarai, 24, were seen at a Hollywood hotel together. Oliver and Sarai also are said to have enjoyed a Parisian break in November. However, Sarai's mother has denied the pair romanced. Last summer, Olivier was seen canoodling with 'Lost' star Michelle Rodriguez and is said to have met up with her again last week. In 2005, he was spotted dining with actress Salma Hayek and George Clooney's ex french model Celine Balitran.
In 2003 - just five months after he began dating Kylie - rumours surfaced over his close relationship with his 'Taking Lives' co-star Angelina Jolie. Olivier's representatives announced the split on Friday saying: "Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed they are no longer a couple. "They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable. The two remain very close friends." Olivier - who Kylie once described as the "love of her life" - is said to have told the dimunitive singer their relationship was over during a phonecall earlier that evening.
