Harry Potter, Simpsons win Nickelodeon Awards

London, (ANI): Actress Emma Watson was honoured with the best movie actress award for playing Hermione Grainger in the 'Harry Potter" series at UK"s first Niclelodeon Kids" Choice Awards. The series" seventh and last tome 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" also bagged the best book award.

'The Simpsons" series, created by Matt Groening, also won two awards during the ceremony, namely, the best cartoon award and the best movie award. The ceremony took place at London's ExCel on Saturday, and will be broadcast on Nickelodeon on 27 and 28 October. The winners were chosen on the basis of the votes cast by over three million children, reports the BBC.

While 'High School Musical" stars Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale took home the awards for best television actors, football ace David Beckham bagged the best sportsman gong. The best reality show category award went to ITV's 'X Factor", and its former winner Shayne Ward collected the trophy on the programme"s behalf. Pop group McFly was awarded the best band award, while pop star Avril Lavigne took home the best female singer gong.
