Serkis
is
joining
hands
with
director
Peter
Jackson
once
again,
this
time
in
DreamWorks'
"Tintin," the
movie
trilogy
partnership
from
Jackson
and
Steven
Spielberg.
Although
DreamWorks
has
not
yet
confirmed,
it
is
believed
that
Serkis
will
be
playing
the
role
of
Capt.
Haddock,
a
temperamental
sea
captain,
in
British
scribe
Steven
Moffat's
adaptation
of
the
European
comic
strip
created
by
Herge.
In
the
comics,
Tintin
is
a
young
Belgian
reporter
and
world
traveller
who
is
aided
in
his
adventures
by
his
faithful
dog
Snowy
and
later
accompanied
by
characters
like
Haddock,
Professor
Cuthbert
Calculus
and
bumbling
detectives
Thomson
and
Thompson.
The
books,
hugely
popular
in
Europe,
have
been
translated
into
50
languages
with
more
than
200
million
sold.
Jackson
and
Spielberg
are
each
directing
an
instalment,
with
the
director
of
the
third
movie
yet
to
be
announced,
reports
the
Hollywood
Reporter.
Kathleen
Kennedy
is
producing
the
three
feature
films,
which
will
be
made
using
performance-capture
technology
and
produced
in
digital
3-D.
Serkis
and
Jackson
have
previously
worked
together
in
"Lord
of
the
Rings" films
and
the
director"s
remake
of
"King
Kong."
