Oscar
winner
Susan
Sarandon
is
the
latest
to
join
the
cast
of
'The
Lovely
Bones'
that
already
has
Rachel
Weisz
and
Ryan
Gosling.
The
film,
which
will
be
directed
by
Peter
Jackson,
is
a
big
screen
adaptation
of
Alice
Sebold's
best-seller
by
the
same
name,
reports
Variety.
The
film
is
the
story
of
a
girl,
Susie
Salmon,
who
is
brutally
raped
and
murdered.
But
after
death,
she
continues
to
watch
her
family
from
heaven.
Salmon,
who
is
the
narrator
in
the
story,
sees
that
her
family
is
grieving
her
loss,
while
her
slayer
succeeds
in
covering
up
the
crime
and
starts
preparing
for
his
next
murder.
Gosling
and
Weisz
will
play
the
girl's
parents
with
Stanley
Tucci
as
the
killer.
Jackson
is
penning
the
screenplay
for
the
film
with
Philippa
Boyens
and
Fran
Walsh.
The
film
will
be
shot
in
Pennsylvania
and
New
Zealand
from
October
this
year.
