former
boyfriend
Raffaello
Follieri
has
been
placed
under
home
detention
in
New
York
and
his
bail
is
set
at
21
million
dollars.
The
29-year-old
Italian
businessman
appeared
in
Manhattan
federal
court
in
New
York
to
answer
charges
of
wire
fraud
conspiracy
and
money
laundering,
reports
Usmagazine.com.
Prosecutors
argued
that
they
had
'overwhelming'
evidence
that
Follieri
improperly
spent
up
to
6
million
dollars
from
investors
to
live
a
lavish
lifestyle.
Follieri
was
placed
under
home
detention
with
an
electronic
monitoring
device
and
may
only
leave
his
apartment
for
legal,
medical
or
religious
reasons.
Follieri
and
Hathaway
are
said
to
have
dated
for
about
four
years
and
broke
up
earlier
this
month.
