Washington (ANI): Actress Hayden Panettiere has signed on to star in teenage comedy "Daydream Nation." Directing the pic will be Michael Goldbach, who has also penned the script. In talks to play Panettiere's oblivious boyfriend in the comedy is actor Kieran Culkin, reports Variety. The movie has a budget of about 10 million dollars and is scheduled to start production in either the second or the third quarter of this year.
Michael Besman, Cameron Lamb of Lila 9th Prods., Lesley Vogel, Emily Gerson Saines of Brookside Artist Management, and the Collective's Sam Maydew are onboard as producers. Shaun Redick of The Collective will be financing the pic, and will rep its North American distribution rights as well. Odyssey Entertainment will handle foreign sales starting in Berlin this week.
