London
(ANI):
Jordan
a.k.a.
Katie
Price
and
her
husband
Peter
Andre
have
won
a
public
apology
and
damages
over
a
newspaper
story,
which
claimed
that
the
couple
were
bad,
uncaring
parents.
The
celebrity
couple
took
legal
action
against
the
News
of
the
World
over
an
article,
which
according
to
their
solicitor
Mike
Brookes,
portrayed
them
as
"shocking
and
uncaring
parents
who
put
their
own
needs
above
those
of
their
children".
Brookes
told
the
court
the
article
showed
them
as
parents
who
"are
so
reckless
they
even
endanger
their
children's
health
and
welfare." Following
the
successful
verdict,
News
Of
The
World
apologised
and
said
it
now
accepted
the
couple
were
decent
and
responsible
parents
who
loved
and
cared
deeply
about
their
children.
Although
the
amount
they
were
awarded
wasn't
specified,
the
couple
revealed
they're
donating
half
to
the
NSPCC
and
charity
Vision
and
the
rest
would
be
put
into
a
trust
fund
for
their
kids
Junior,
Princess
Tiaami
and
Harvey.
"Anyone
who
has
kids
can
imagine
how
it
would
feel
to
be
accused
publicly
of
being
bad
parents,"
the
Daily
Star
quoted
Jordan,
as
saying.
"Pete
and
I
love
our
kids
and
would
do
anything
for
them.
We
came
here
today
to
see
that
justice
was
done
and
that
our
names
were
cleared,"
she
added.
