Eddie Murphy ties knot with Tracey Edmonds

It was New Year's Eve and for Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds there were more reasons to celebrate. Amidst t their near and dear ones, they tied the knot. On Tuesday the couple went to a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia with 25 friends and family members. There they got married under a special pergola on a man-made beach of six thousand shells.

A spokesperson said Eddie was in a cream suit and vest. Gladys Knight's Making of You was playing in the background and on that tune Tracey walked barefoot down the walkway to Eddie. The ceremony was good for the groomsmen and bridesmaids as they received diamond earrings and designer watches after the ceremony.

Eddie, 46, and Tracey, 40, have been dating since the fall of 2006 and it's after two long years that they decided to marry. This happened to be the second marriage for both Murphy and Edmonds. In October, 2005 Edmonds got separated from Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds and Murphy divorced Nicole Mitchell in April 2006.

Off the track we should recap that AOL's Moviefone website recently tried a poll with almost 3.8 million people to get the names of the worst actor and actress of the year and Eddie Murphy topped the actor's list for his appearance in the film "Norbit". It was bad news for Murphy, but the marriage must have amended that broken heart.
