Melbourne
(ANI):
Nicole
Kidman's
daughter
is
the
latest
celeb
baby
with
a
rather
unusual
name.
Now,
the
Oscar
winning
star's
father
has
revealed
just
what
induced
Kidman
and
her
hubby
Keith
Urban
to
name
their
precious
bundle
of
joy
Sunday
Rose.
Antony
Kidman
revealed
that
the
newborn
is
named
after
a
very
famous
Australian
lady.
"There
was
a
lady
named
Sunday
Reed
who
was
a
prominent
patron
of
the
arts
in
Victoria," News.com.au
quoted
Mr
Kidman,
as
saying.
"I
have
read
a
bit
about
Sunday
Reed
and
her
husband
John
-
she
was
a
key
mover
and
shaker
in
the
arts
around
the
beginning
of
the
century.
The
name
Sunday
struck
me
as
being
a
nice
name
for
a
woman,
so
my
wife
and
I
mentioned
it,"
he
added.
Sunday
Reed
was
famous
for
her
patronage
of
the
arts,
but
also
for
her
relationship
with
Sidney
Nolan.
Reed
and
her
husband
took
part
in
a
menage-a-trois
type
affair
with
the
artist,
which
lasted
nine
years
in
the
1930s
and
resulted
in
Sunday
becoming
Nolan''s
muse.
The
connection
could
be
the
reason
behind
Kidman
and
Urban''s
keen
interest
in
a
Sidney
Nolan
exhibition
at
the
Art
Gallery
of
NSW.
The
exhibition
had
featured
a
quote
about
birth
from
Nolan,
which
was
scrawled
across
a
wall.
"When
you
are
young
you
are
given
a
good
view
of
life,
because
of
your
closeness
to
birth,"
it
read.
In
an
interview
to
Sunshine
Coast
radio,
Urban''s
brother
Shane
revealed
that
baby''s
second
name
was
a
tribute
to
their
late
grandmother
Rose.
"It''s
a
wonderful
wonderful
thing,
I''m
so,
so
proud,"
he
said.
Sunday
Rose
was
born
on
Monday
morning.
Coldplay''s
Chris
Martin
doesn''t
see
anything
wrong
with
celebs
keeping
unusual
names
for
their
kids
In
an
interview
to
new
issue
of
Blender
the
31-year-old
rocker,
who
named
his
son
Moses
and
daughter
Apple
defended
weird
baby
names.
"People
make
a
big
fuss
over
names.
Names
of
babies,
names
of
albums,
names
of
bands,"
Usmagazine
quoted
him
as
saying.
"There's
nothing
weird
about
calling
your
baby
Chewbacca
if
that's
what
you
want
to
call
your
baby,"
he
goes
on.
"It's
no
stranger
than
Sarah,"
he
added.
He
said,
"a
name
is
just
a
noise,
and
if
you
like
it,
then
f--k
what
everyone
else
says."
