Tina Fey retiring Sarah Palin character

By Staff

Washington (ANI): Tina Fey has announced that she is 'packing up her wig' and retiring her 'Saturday Night Live' (SNL) impersonation of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The creator, producer and star of '30 Rock', who bears an uncanny resemblance to Palin, made the announcement on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show'.

"I am going to retire, but I think if need be I think Kristen Wiig from 'Saturday Night Live' would do a great job... I think I am going to pack up my wig," CBS News quoted Fey, as telling Palin.

Overall, Fey is grateful for the opportunity to play such a big part of the election - on the entertainment front. "I am really happy I did it, for me it was this wonderful chance to go kind of home again and be with all of my friends on SNL. It's just the strangest thing that ever happened to have been a part of the excitement of the election. SNL was a really big part of that excitement," she said.
