Angelina Jolie filming a video for a cause

Washington (ANI): As part of her role as a United Nations (UN) ambassador, Angelina Jolie is filming a video to highlight the plight of refugees in front of the world.

The Hollywood beauty serves as a Refugees Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission, and has long been fighting to help millions of people who have become homeless owing to war or persecution. After visiting a refugee centre in Northern Thailand in February this year, Jolie has now appeared in a video to promote World Refugee Day, on June 20.

In the video, the Tomb Raider star will be seen urging people across the world to pay more attention to the problems of others. Jolie begins by telling viewers not to look away as harrowing video footage of the desperate displaced flashes onto the screen.

"Refugees are the most vulnerable people on earth. Every day they are fighting to survive. They deserve our respect, please do not forget them. Remember them on this day, World Refugee Day," Contactmusic quoted Jolie as saying.
