Even as the whole world is mourning the death of actress Farrah Fawcett, who lost her battle to anal cancer yesterday (25th June), one should find solace by the thought that she had left behind a legacy by fighting the deadly disease courageously till her last breathe. She still lives in the hearts of many.

Farrah Fawcett, the star of the TV show Charlie's Angels, didn't utter a word of complain or question God during her struggle against cancer. She went through lots of painful treatments ever since she was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. She lost her famous hair in the course of the serial treatments and her health kept deteriorating but she never lost hope till her last breath. She even took alternative medicines with the hope of winning over the disease.

Three years may not look that long for a healthy person but for an ailing person like Fawcett, a day would seem like years. Ryan O'Neal rightly said that Fawcett had passed away after a long and brave battle with cancer.

Doctors treating the 62-year-old actress were full of praise for her courage and will to survive. She even let her long-time companion Ryan O'Neal shoot video of her battling cancer with the aim of bringing about awareness. The documentary titled Farrah's Story was broadcast about six weeks ago.

Farrah Fawcett has indeed become an inspiration and symbol of courage for many. Her 'spirit for survival', 'never say die' attitude and courage will be talked about by many generations to come. She still lives in the hearts of the people.
