London
(ANI):
Funnyman
has
incurred
the
wrath
of
a
Catholic
group
after
he
was
shown
urinating
on
a
painting
of
Jesus
in
the
latest
episode
of
the
TV
show
Curb
your
Enthusiasm.
The
scene
shows
David''s
character
accidentally
taking
a
leak
on
Jesus" picture,
which
hangs
next
to
a
toilet.
Many
other
characters
then
think
that
the
painting
is
crying.
But
the
Catholic
League
is
not
amused.
"Was
always
this
crude?
Would
he
think
it
comic
if
someone
urinated
on
a
picture
of
his
mother?" the
Telegraph
quoted
League
president
Bill
Donahue,
as
saying.
Donahue
said:
"At
one
point
in
the
show,
David
goes
to
the
bathroom
in
a
Catholic
home
and
splatters
urine
on
a
picture
of
Jesus.
He
doesn't
clean
it
off.
Then
a
Catholic
woman
goes
to
the
bathroom,
sees
the
picture
and
concludes
that
Jesus
is
crying.
She
then
summons
her
equally
stupid
mother
and
the
two
of
them
fall
to
their
knees
in
prayer."
A
Catholic
League
spokeswoman
added:
"Our
members
are
opposed
to
it.
There's
no
one
calling
to
support
it,
let''s
put
it
that
way."
However,
the
broadcaster
HBO
has
defended
the
show
by
saying:
"Anyone
who
follows
Curb
Your
Enthusiasm
knows
that
the
show
is
full
of
parody
and
satire.
makes
fun
of
everyone,
most
especially
himself.
The
humour
is
always
playful
and
certainly
never
malicious."
