When the 77-year-old legend was reportedly rushed to a medical centre near her home in Beverly Hills on July 13, it was alleged that she was being treated for exhaustion due to an emotional breakdown following Jackson's death. Some reports even suggested that the star had to be sedated after a particularly severe attack of grief.
However, a spokesperson for the actress has scotched the reports, insisting that Taylor was taken to hospital for a 'minor, though painful, surgical procedure'.
"She is in for standard tests and a minor, though painful, surgical procedure. That's it. No drama, no shrieking, no sedation required. Nobody on her staff is worried. Period," Contactmusic quoted the spokesperson as having told Entertainment Tonight.
The spokesperson also released a statement from Taylor herself, saying: "I twittered in anticipation of what some of the cheaper rags would say about my going into the hospital at this time. I am fine and will be home soon."
Washington, (ANI): Elizabeth Taylor has denied that getting emotionally drained following the death of her close pal, late King of Pop Michael Jackson, was the reason why she was recently hospitalised.
