Roman
Polanski
is
expected
to
be
released
from
jail
on
Dec

put
under
house
arrest,
say
Swiss
authorities.
The
76-year-old
director
has
been
in
Swiss
custody
since
his
arrest
in
Zurich
in
September
(09)
in
relation
to
a
1977
sex
charge.
However,
he
was
finally
granted
bail
last
month
after
three
failed
attempts
at
freedom,
reports
Contactmusic.
Officials
are
set
to
release
him
to
his
Alpine
chalet
in
Gstaad,
Switzerland,
where
he
will
remain
under
house
arrest
and
will
be
made
to
wear
an
electronic
monitoring
bracelet,
until
Swiss
authorities
decide
whether
to
extradite
him
to
the
US.
The
director
was
granted
bail
last
week,
but
was
being
held
by
authorities
until
he
paid
the
full
4.5
million
dollars
demanded
by
court.
Polanski
went
to
France
in
1978
as
he
awaited
sentencing
for
sexually
assaulting
a
13-year-old
girl
at
a
Hollywood
party.
He
was
caught
by
Swiss
authorities
while
attending
a
film
festival
in
Zurich
in
September
(09)
after
31
years
on
the
run.
