Washington,
(ANI):
Hollywood
actress
Hilary
Swank's
high-flying
dreams
were
dashed
when
Amelia's
insurance
company
didn't
let
her
fly
alone.
The
35-year-old
actress
plays
iconic
aviator
Amelia
Earhart
in
the
new
film
Amelia
directed
by
Mira
Nair.
"I
had
about
19
hours
of
flying
under
my
belt,
but
the
insurance
policy
on
the
movie
was
never
going
to
allow
me
do
that
(fly
solo)," Contactmusic
quoted
her
as
saying.
"But
I
definitely
want
to
see
that
through,"
she
added.
The
film
was
earlier
to
be
helmed
by
Phil
Noyce
of
Catch
A
Fire
fame,
but
he
later
dropped
out.
Besides
being
an
aviation
pioneer,
Earhart
was
also
known
as
an
author
and
women's
rights
advocate.
She
disappeared
over
the
central
Pacific
Ocean
near
Howland
Island
during
an
attempt
to
make
a
circumnavigational
flight
of
the
globe
in
1937.
