The long wait is over as the viewers get to know the name of their new Spiderman. The lesser known British Actor Andrew Garfield has been chosen over other big names to play the superhero.
The choice of 26 year old Andrew came as a surprise to all. The shooting of the new 3D Hollywood blockbuster will start from December this year.
In the words of director Marc Webb, “Take my words, I am sure you are going to love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. Many people may not know his name but those who have watched his performances can understand his extraordinary talents."
Andrew has reportedly got the role bypassing other British actors like Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson and Jamie Bell of Billy Elliot fame.

Last year, Garfield debuted into modeling with Vogue magazine, appearing alongside Lily Cole. Born in Los Angeles, Andrew"s father is a Californian and mother was from Essex. When he was just three years old, the family moved to England.
He studied at the City of London Freemen"s School and had undergone training at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
According to one of the producers on the Spider-Man franchise, Avi Arad, “We believe he is the perfect choice for the role to lead us into the future."
The latest Spiderman movie starring Andrew Garfield is slated to hit the theaters in 2012.
