James Cameron to compete against ex-wife at Oscars

London (ANI): Avatar director James Cameron may compete against his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow at the Oscars this year. Bigelow's film The Hurt Locker, based on Iraq war, won at Directors Guild of America awards.

Also, Cameron and Bigelow were pitted against each other for best director in the Golden Globes, with Cameron taking the prize, reports the Mirror. The other films, which have already featured strongly on major film nominations lists, include Up In The Air, Precious, Invictus, Inglourious Basterds, and An Education.

The list of nominees for the 82nd Academy Awards will be announced in Los Angeles.
