Harry Potter fashion: the best and worst

By Sampurn Wire

The Harry Potter series has been one of the most entertaining and profitable series of films in the history of Hollywood cinema. And while most have talked about the characters and their traits in the film, little have movie-goers noticed the individual fashion statements of the on screen characters of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

Being the lead female character, Hermione Granger, played by Emma Watson, is perhaps the most fashionable character in the Harry Potter series, while our vote goes to Ron Weasley, played by Rupert Grint, for the worst dressed character in the entire Harry Potter series.

The Yule Ball shown in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was perhaps the first occasion that gave the Potter characters an opportunity to dress up. And it was also the first time that the world noticed that Emma Watson was no more the small child we usually thought her to be. Looking pretty in a pink gown, the Yule Ball served as the prelude of the Emma Watson style that seems to have hit the nation during present times. Isn"t Emma the star attraction at every Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows premiere?

Ron Weasly"s choice of robes on the other hand has always been as confused as the character is! Though the Yule Ball was the perfect occasion for Ron to look good, he came dressed in robes and coats which seemed bigger than his body size.

While most Harry Potter costumes, comprising mostly of robes, have been quite boring, 'Prisoner of Azkaban" came as a fresh surprise for the viewers. It was for the first time that the world got to see the Harry Potter characters dressed in casual clothes, and did they look good. Even then, Ron managed to look the odd one out, with Harry and Hermione stealing the fashion spotlights.
