Cash crisis leads to axing of James Bond film

By Ramchander

Disappointing millions of Bond fans, it has been announced yesterday that the 23rd James Bond movie has been axed officially. In April, the 132-million-pound blockbuster movie starring Daniel Craig as Bond had been postponed due to financial problems but now it is totally axed.

The $ 3.7 billion debt ridden movie studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) has announced this. An insider, close to the film, said, “The production crew members have been informed that the Bond film has been canned. Naturally bad feelings are there as huge amount of money and lots of hard work have already been invested into this project".

Sam Mendes was roped to direct the film; Neal Purvis and Robert Wade wrote the screenplay. The duo had earlier penned the script for Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale.

In a statement, production company EON said, “We have no idea about the next development and are unable to comment further at this stage".
