James Cameron opens up on Cleopatra

By Ramchander

There has been quite a lot of speculation and all those who thought that James Cameron will not leave Fox for a new project think again. The man has confirmed the news that he has been involved in some initial talks with the Sony pictures about a possible film Cleopatra.

In a recent interview with the 'New York Times" the ace director said that he would love to be part of the project since the subject regarding the Egyptian Queen has enthralled him. Also in the same breath Cameron had no problem calling the project “hot" as the 35year old Jolie is likely to play the role of Cleopatra. However, the man knows how to keep things open and not confirm it totally until the project is rolling, so Cameron went on to mention that even if he does not direct the film it will be a fabulous project.

The film which is likely to be 3D is based on the life of Cleopatra and will not limit itself to the love life of the lady but the political fight she had to put up with her brother in the course of time. The book is a research work of Stacy Schiff titled Cleopatra: A Life.

Though many people might be quite enthusiastic to see Jolie as the legendary queen, there are quite a few who feels that the role should go to a black woman and not a white female.
