The Last King of Scotland director Kevin Macdonald and Gladiator fame Sir Ridley Scott have teamed up to create a feature documentary film based on videos submitted by YouTube users. The film is titled Life in A Day, which will be produced by Sir Ridley Scott. Macdonald will edit and compile the best footage uploaded by the users across the globe into a documentary film.
Are you thinking of how to take part in the movie making? Don't worry. All you need to do is shoot a portion of your day on July 24 and upload the video to the Life in a Day Youtube channel. If your video is selected, you will be considered as the co-director of the film Life in A Day. YouTube will even be distributing hundreds of cameras in developing countries so that even people who don"t usually tape themselves can participate.
The film Life in A Day will be premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, in Salt Lake City, Utah, in January 2011. Selected 20 members, whose videos are used in the final copy of the film, will get a chance to attend the screening of the film at Sundance.
