Robert Pattinson to miss Oscars ceremony

London (ANI): British actor Robert Pattinson will be absent from this week"s Oscars ceremony, it has emerged.

The actor will be busy filming new movie Bel Ami in Europe when the show takes place this Sunday. Previously it had been claimed that organisers were snubbing the actor. But now Oscar co-producer Adam Shankman has said they wanted him but were told he"s busy.

"I think the Pattinson community (fans) is going insane. All I want to say is, ''He's not available! It's not like we snubbed him. It's not like we said no to him. We asked him to be in the show. We tried really really hard to get him there. We were working on getting (film studio) Summit to fly him in for the day, but eventually it became too much," the Daily Express quoted Shankman as telling E! Online.
