Hunger Games trilogy to be made into 4 movies

Due to the success of extended novel adaptation movies, such as the Twilight Saga and Harry Potter series, Lionsgate Entertainment has reportedly planned to make four movies based on the Suzzanne Collins trilogy 'The Hunger Games'. This film is being produced by Nina Jacobson's Production Company and is being directed by Gary Ross.

The rough budget for the first film in The Hunger Games series is estimated to be 75 million dollars. The cast of the film includes Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Woody Harrelson. According to reports, The Hunger Games started production just last week in North Carolina and is said to release on March 23, next year.

The Hunger Games is set in a post-apocalyptic era, where North America is now known as Panem. Each year, The Hunger Games are held in a city called Capitol, where a girl and boy are chosen from each district to fight till the death.
