Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios have announced that they will drop Thor sequel in the US on July 26, 2013, two months after Iron Man 3 is released on May 3. Chris Hemsworth is set to reprise his role as the God of Thunder. But director Kenneth Branagh is reportedly not returning for Thor 2.
According to the Deadline, Kenneth Branagh's exit from Thor 2 production was mutual and amicable. But the director may still be involved in some producing capacity. However, the Marvel Studios has refused to comment on Branagh's participation in the upcoming project.
Hollywood movie Thor, which stars Chris Hemsworth in the lead, has become a big hit film at the worldwide Box Office. Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios are very happy with the huge success of the film and have planned to work on its sequel. The studios have also set July 26, 2013 as the release date for Thor 2.
