Director Christopher Nolan has officially announced that he is all set to start the shooting of The Dark Knight Rises in Pittsburgh. The Batman helmer has already got permission from the Mayor of the city, Luke Ravenstahl. And he has decided to spend this summer with his team in the Pennsylvania city and finish the filming.

Christopher Nolan has revealed the news about the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises on Tuesday, April 5. "Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman," The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports him as he saying.

The director has chosen the city, because he has fallen in love with the diversity of architecture and the gorgeous buildings. But he is yet to settle the specific locations for the filming of The Dark Knight Rises. Meanwhile, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said, "We are thrilled to be welcoming the Batman film to Pittsburgh. He added, "We will be rolling out the red carpet for them."

However, Christopher Nolan himself will handle the camera for the film The Dark Knight Rises. Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy will play the lead roles. The Dark Knight sequel will be released across the globe on July 20, 2012.
